Lijiang tops 10 most popular summer resorts

Lijiang tops the 10 most popular summer resorts in 2012, according to a report released by Mangocity.com, a major e-commerce platform for travel and tourism in China. Other popular tourist destinations include Xiamen, Yangshuo, Sanya, Hong Kong and Phuket.

The report shows that tourism booking consultation and turnover for the 10 hottest resorts this summer have increased substantially compared to the same period last year. Bookings in Lijiang have increased by 362 percent and Xiamen 235 percent. Director of Mangocity.com said online sales and promotions have contributed a lot to the tourism boom this summer. These discounts have made summer travel both popular and cost efficient.
