A series of activities were held to mark the seventh "Chinese Cultural Heritage Day" in Lijiang on June 9, 2012.

Publicity and consulting activities themed "Culture Heritage and Culture Prosperity" were hosted at the Yuhe Square in Lijiang old town. Working staff from the Heritage Monitoring Center and the Culture Protection Division of the Protection and Management Bureau answered questions from participants on construction, renovations, business regulations, collection and management of the maintenance fee, and the administration and law-enforcement of the ancient town.

Young volunteers, wearing the traditional costumes of the Naxi ethnic group, distributed publications to local residents and visiting tourists. The material covered information on the Seventh Chinese Cultural Heritage Day, the world cultural heritages and the Lijiang ancient town.

A joint (tour) exhibition of "World Heritage Cartoon Drawing 2011/2012" was shown. Artistic performances and a photo exhibit of intangible cultural heritages were also hosted on that day.

These activities encouraged awareness of cultural heritage protection and further publicized achievements.
