Updated: 2011-02-24

The Liaoning delegation led by Chen Zhenggao, governor of Liaoning Province, ended its visit to Taiwan on Feb 21, 2011.

A series of cultural activities were held with tremendous success, including Liaoning Culture Week and the Liaoning-Taiwan Tourism Promotion and Cooperation Forum. These activities have fully demonstrated the success of the all-around rejuvenation of Liaoning and the new image of the Liaoning people.

During the visit, the delegation attended the Liaoning-Taiwan Economic & Trade Corporation Forum and other economic trade activities, and visited some large enterprises.

Meanwhile, Chen met celebrities from business communities of Taiwan to negotiate opportunities for cooperation. These efforts brought Liaoning a new batch of major projects.

He also talked with some well-known Taiwan politicians, such as Lien Chan, honorary chairman of the Kuomintang (KMT), and Chiang Pin-kung, chairman of the Straits Exchange Foundation.

These exchanges and promotions have greatly raised the profile of Liaoning in Taiwan and promoted cooperation between both regions.
