World-leading flavor manufacturer launched in Zhangjiagang

The launching ceremony for International Flavors and Fragrances Zhangjiagang Company (IFF) was held in Zhangjiagang Bonded Zone on Oct 9.
International Flavors and Fragrances Company (IFF), one of the leading flavor manufacturers, owns 110 producing bases across the world, with five in China.
The company planned to build a branch in Zhangjiagang city in 2016 which is set to become the second largest food flavor production base.
Accordingly, with a total of $150 million investment, the Zhangjiagang production base covers 66,666.7 square meters. The construction is divided into two phases.
The first phase with $45 million investment will build powder essence production workshop, liquid essence production workshop, and waste gas treatment equipment. After completion, the factory will annually produce 24,000 tons of edible essence.
Zhangjiagang bonded zone has attracted over 6,000 companies including 30 listed companies for its favorable policies and regional advantages. It has become a renowned high-end industrial cluster area in Yangtze River basin.
Huang Ji, the mayor of Zhangjiagang city said at the launching ceremony that the launch of IFF will accelerate industrial transformation and upgrading of Zhangjiagang city.
It is hoped that IFF will further expand the industrial chain and upgrade the value chain by taking the production base as an opportunity and deepen partnership with Zhangjiagang city.
