Culture and art festival draws to a close in Zhangjiagang

The 2017 China (Zhangjiagang) Yangtze River Culture and Art Festival wrapped up on Nov 10 in Zhangjiagang's Poly Theatre.

A series of colorful cultural activities including folk art performances, charming traditional dramas and humorous skit show, as well as Chinese classical music performances hit the stage of Zhangjiagang, not only in the urban areas but also in the rural areas. The shows provided local residents a chance to gain a deeper understanding of Yangtze River culture.

Yang Fang, director of Zhangjiagang municipal publicity department, said at the closing ceremony that for 14 years, Zhangjiagang, together with 12 provinces and cities along the Yangtze River, has made efforts to build the Culture and Art Festival into a giant folk culture gala to boost traditional culture along the Yangtze River.
