The city of Zhangjiagang in Jiangsu province has opened its first vanilla garden covering a spread of 160 mu (about 100,000 square meters) of flowers at Jinfeng town.

The garden also features other kinds of flowers such as lavender, verbena, chrysanthemum, dull ice flowers and oenothera biennis. Decorative blue lighthouses, Dutch-style windmills and mini trains pop up out of the sea of flowers creating a vivid scene and an enjoyable experience for visitors.

Many entertainment rides have been newly launched to diversify the landscape and complement supporting infrastructure, said Qian Li, manager of the garden. Various outdoor activities like camping and hot-air ballooning are also popular. Visitors can even saddle up and scoot around the garden on electric bicycles.

Besides the parade of flowers, there are shops located at the entrance of the garden, fashioned out of sea containers, selling flowers, food and souvenirs.
