Yangshan, a town in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, has gained several tourism service investment projects worth 500 million yuan ($78m), which are expected to attract 150,000 tourists every year.

Yangshan, "China's hometown of juicy peaches", takes advantage of its geological resources and has developed its distinctive volcano hot spring into one of the most attractive tourist resort projects in the Yangtze River Delta.

This time, Yangshan has cooperated with Tujia.com, an online company that offers a tourism reservation service, to make use of its sales platform for the brand promotion of the hot spring project.

The town has also entered into a helicopter base project worth 20 million yuan ($3m) with HighFly Aviation Development Group. Covering an area of 5,000 square meters, the base will provide a helicopter rental service to enable visitors to enjoy a bird's eye view of the town and the whole city.

An agricultural sightseeing garden in a Dutch style will be constructed in the near future. The garden will demonstrate agricultural technology, biological product R&D, and agricultural leisure tourism.

The former Wuxi New District, now known as Wuxi Xinwu district or Wuxi National Hi-tech district, was founded in 1992 and underwent administrative changes in 1995, 2002 and 2005.
