A signing ceremony between Wuxi and China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) was held on Jan 9. A marine detection industrial park of CSSC will be established in Wuxi.

Li Yunfeng, executive vice-governor of Jiangsu province, was invited to deliver a speech. Jiangsu focuses on the development of the marine equipment industry and has set out a specific plan, said Li. Thanks to the good natural environment, sufficient supporting facilities and advanced Internet of Things (IOT) industry, Wuxi is capable of developing the industry. Through cooperation with CSSC, Wuxi can promote the development of the IOT industry and upgrade the industrial pattern.

CSSC was expected to accelerate the construction of the marine detection industry in Wuxi. Wuxi would create a better environment and provide more service to the construction of the park, according to Huang Lixin, Party secretary of Wuxi.

Centering on marine detection and information technology, the park will build the industrial clusters, including ocean engineering, marine detection and underwater engineering equipment. The phase I project, which will form the industrial pattern of ocean sensing, is expected to be finished in 2017.

The former Wuxi New District, now known as Wuxi Xinwu district or Wuxi National Hi-tech district, was founded in 1992 and underwent administrative changes in 1995, 2002 and 2005.
