German automotive parts maker Brose laid the foundation for a $150 million development and production project in Taicang, a county-level city in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, shortly after the city's businesses began resuming operations, with guests involved in politics, business, and the media attending a related ceremony.

Brose has been helping shape the automobile industry for over a century. Its products enhance vehicle comfort, safety, and efficiency. The company employs about 26,000 people at 64 locations across 24 countries and generates €6.2 billion in annual revenue. Fun fact: One in every two new cars uses Brose products.

Brose's Taicang branch, founded in the Taicang Economic Development Area (TCEDA) in September 2014, has become a leading maker of door modules, window regulators, seat structures, lumbar adjusters, actuator drives, and other advanced automobile parts. Its annual output is expected to exceed 10 billion yuan ($1.43 billion).

Companies and related supply chain entities are currently in the process of resuming operations, and the city's industrial economy is now back on track and gaining momentum.

In January and February, the administrative committee of TCEDA registered a total of $ 242 million in investment, up 272 percent over the same period in the previous year.

More targeted measures will also be rolled out by local authorities to help solve issues, giving Chinese and foreign entrepreneurs and investors more confidence.
