The city of Taicang in Jiangsu province has built a string of agriculture industrial parks over the years to ramp up the city's agricultural development.

A total of 15 agriculture industrial parks are now under construction, with an overall planned area of over 200,000 mu (13,333 hectares), including a national agriculture demonstration base with an area of more than 533 hectares, a 4,333-hectare provincial agriculture industrial park and three municipal parks covering an area of over 3,733 hectares.

The industrial parks highlight technologies involving high yield and soil quality improvement, as well as modern agricultural equipment including a mechanized system for rice production, a smart irrigation system and a waste recovery system, in a bid to boost modern agricultural growth.

The city also attached importance to the integration of agriculture and tourism and aimed at promoting the mutual development of the two industries.
