Chinese opera: known as Kunqu, it originated in the Suzhou area, followed by later Suzhou Opera.

Ballad-singing: referred to as Suzhou pingtan, a local form of storytelling that mixes singing with pipa (flute) and sanxian (xxxxxx) accompaniment and portions of spoken dialectal phrases.

Handicrafts: embroidery, double-sided embroidery, fans, musical instruments, scroll mountings, lanterns, mahogany furniture, jade carving, silk tapestry, traditional painting Jiangenxutang pigments, and Taohuawu Studio New Year's wood-block prints.
