Shangfang Hill, Suzhou

Shangfangshan Hill National Forest Park lies in the Shihu Lake Scenic Zone and the Taihu Lake Scenic Zone. It is four kilometers from downtown Suzhou.

The park was approved as a national forest park by the Ministry of Forests in 1992.

The park covers 500 hectares at a green-coverage rate higher than 95 percent.

It's time for the Shangfang Hill National Forest Park to offer a "flowers festival"; a gathering of cherry, peach, apricot and pear blossoms, from March to May. Tulips, hyacinth and daffodils are there to join the celebration.

It's worth mentioning that the park has Prunus lannesiana Wils. cv. Gioiko, a valuable and scarce cherry tree producing blossoms with green flowers; rare even in Japan.

Remember to bring your child-like nature as there are some animals to play with.

Address: No 47, Hengyue Road, Huangtang town, Suzhou
