Loquats with thick and juicy flesh are ripe in May and June. Where can you taste fresh loquats? The following are some recommended places around Kunshan.

Bacheng and Qiandeng towns, Kunshan

1) Yuefeng Organic Farm

Address: Maanshan West Road, Bacheng town

2) Xingqijiu Ecological Farm

Address: No 2401, Yingbin West Road, Bacheng town

3) Datang Ecological Farm

Address: No 1, Huanzhen Road, Qiandeng town

Dongshan town, Suzhou

Dongshan’s loquats are among the most famous in China. Its annual loquat festival in May and June attracts crowds of tourists.

1) Dongshan Eco-industrial Park

Route: turn right after getting off Suzhou’s Ring Expressway at Dongshan exit – turn left at the end of the Wuzhong Avenue – Hubin Road – drive through Dongshan town – Dongshan Eco-industrial Park

2) Waxberry (Loquat) Picking Garden

Route: turn right after getting off Suzhou’s Ring Expressway at Dongshan exit – turn left at the end of the Wuzhong Avenue – Hubin Road – drive through Dongshan town – Huandao Road – Baonan bus stop (No 629)

3) Wuxiang Ecological Garden

Route: turn right after getting off Suzhou’s Ring Expressway at Dongshan exit – turn left at the end of the Wuzhong Avenue – Hubin Road – Shanshui Road – Fenghuangshan Road – Wuxiang Ecological Garden

Xishan town, Suzhou

Xishan’s loquats feature soft pulp and high sugar content.

Route: Suzhou’s Ring Expressway – Suzhou-Shanghai Expressway – get off the expressway at Xishan exit – Taihu Avenue – across the Taihu Lake Bridge – Xishan town

Muwan Ecological Garden, Wuxi

Address: Heping village, Mashi town

Route: Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway (or Nanjing-Hangzhou Expressway) – Wuxi-Yixing Expressway – turn right to the Meiliang Road at the end of the Luma Highway– drive straight along the Meiliang Road and turn left to the Lianfeng Road – drive straight along the Lianfeng Road and turn right to the Huanshan West Road – drive about 3 km to the garden

Fengxian district, Shanghai

Qingcun town’s loquats are famous for thick pulp, small pit and sweet taste.

Route: Kunshan – Shanghai-Changzhou Expressway – Qingping-Pingwang Expressway – Xinzhuang-Fengxian-Jinshan Expressway – Linhai Highway – Yanqian Highway – Taoyuan village, Qingcun town

Tangxi town, Hangzhou

Tangzi town has 18 varieties of loquats, one of which is a treasure among all loquat varieties.

Route: Get off the Shanghai-Hangzhou Expressway at Linping exit – Yingbin Avenue – the provincial road S304 (or S09) – Tangxi town

Qiandao Lake, Hangzhou

In addition to 1,078 islands, loquats with juicy fruit are planted around Hangzhou’s Qiandao Lake.

Route: Shanghai-Changzhou Expressway – Suzhou’s Ring Expressway – Hangzhou-Qiandaohu Expressway – Jinxian Avenue – Xin’an Avenue – Qiandao Lake, Chun’an county
