Ip Man (Ye Wen), a masterpiece from Kunshan-based Funa Media Co in Jiangsu province, recently won the 2014 "Five One Project Award", a provincial award for excellent literary and artistic works.

It was the second recognition for the TV series after the Best Television Series of the 27th China TV Golden Eagle Awards. The series depicts the heroic journey of Ip Man (1893-1972), a Chinese martial arts master of Wing Tsun or Yong Chun.

Jiangsu awarded a total of 131 artworks this year, including movies, TV series, documentaries, books, operas, songs, comics and radio plays.

The Five One Project Award was initiated by the CPC Publicity Department in 1992 to promote positive energy in the cultural field. Kunshan has since been striving to boost its cultural industry, awarding 19 artworks, including seven books, five songs, four TV series, two operas and one article.
