The fourth 'Around Taihu Lake Hiking Event' will kick off in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, on April 26, the Jiangnan Evening News reported.

The event, co-hosted by the city's publicity department and sports bureau, attracts more than 10,000 participants every year. The number of hikers exceeded 12,000 in 2014, 3,000 of whom were from surrounding cities such as Suzhou, Changzhou and Shanghai.

This year's event will kick off at the Wuxi Grand Theater, Binhu district, according to the organizers. It will have three categories – 15 km, 30 km and 50 km. The participants can enjoy the beautiful lake scenery while hiking along the route.

The first-stage application for the event will begin at 9 am on March 2. Different from previous years, participants should apply through WeChat account (yundongwuxi) this year.
