Binhu tourism gets fruitful results in 2014

The Binhu district of Wuxi, Jiangsu province, has seen booming tourism in 2014. Receiving 29.76 million tourists, a year-on-year growth of 4.4 percent with a total projected revenue of 16.5 billion yuan ($2.66 billion), an increase of 3.7 percent over the same period of last year.
From January to October, the district has also achieved a hotel occupancy rate of 49.1 percent, a year-on-year growth of 2.7 percent. Its tourist spots such as Lingshan Buddhist Scenic Spot, received 2.59 million tourists, an increase of 2.9 percent over same period of last year. CCTV Wuxi Movie/TV Base received 1.7 million, an increase of 3.7 percent, and Yuantouzhu Scenic Spot, 2.4 million, 6.9 percent.
With the aim to provide tourists with one-stop service, the district founded Long Triangle Alliance Travel Distribution Co in 2013. Offering ticket-booking services to tourists in Shanghai Travel Distribution Center who are willing to go on a tour to the district, receiving total estimated tourists of 100,000 all the year round.
In addition, the district launched Landscape Culture and Tourism Festival to publicize its cultural tourism concept, putting on sub-activities such as Taihu Lake Music Festival, Taihu Lake Sailing, Cycling and Gourmet Festival.
