Baotou will launch targeted job fairs and enact preferential policies for startups, in order to assist in the employment of college graduates, Baotou Daily reported on Oct 23.

The measures will target college students in Baotou who will graduate in July, and also anyone who has graduated since 2011.

Four targeted job fairs are to be held, providing professional consultation to applicants. Extra employment assistance services will be available to college graduates from Guyang county and Beiliang, Baotou, including 1,000 vacancies in public services.

Also, entrepreneurship projects initiated by college graduates who graduated after 2011 will enjoy preferential policies including a rent wavier for the first three years and subsidies for water, electricity, heating and Internet access in the pioneer parks and incubators.

Baotou, a city of North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has devoted itself to the recruitment of highly-skilled workers, and has enacted policies and initiatives to assist with the employment of college graduates. Earlier in August, the people’s government of Baotou issued an initiative on college graduate recruitment, aiming to find employment for 200,000 college graduates by 2020.

A job fair targeting college graduates came to a close on Oct 16. The fair saw 1,259 visitors, of which 522 reached employment agreements with some of the companies present.
