Baotou to host International Rare Earth Industry Forum

The 8th China Baotou International Rare Earth Industry Forum, under the theme of "Innovation and Coordinated Development of Rare Earth Industry" will run in Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Aug 8. The forum aims to promote global cooperation, xinhuanet.com reported on Aug 4.

The city, located in Northern China, is Inner Mongolia’s largest industrial city. It is fast becoming China’s leading supplier of rare earth resources and a national base for deep processing. The city has also become a center for R&D into rare earth resources.

The annual forum initiated in 2009, is aimed at promoting rare earth production, trade and research. It has grown to be the most important event in the national rare earth industry.

In the forum, experts will discuss the latest policies and measures for the industry, the current economic status, and the future direction for industry development.

This year the forum will be jointly hosted by the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Association of China Rare Earth Industry and the Chinese Society of Rare Earths.
