A special safety education class recently opened at the 45th middle school in Baotou, Inner Mongolia as a part of the national pilot program of promoting experiential safety education. China's Red Cross initiated the program in 2014, intending to launch the first group of 50 security experiential education classrooms across the nation and to make security education more professional and effective. Baotou 45th middle school is on the pilot site list.

Divided into self-security, campus security, traffic security, family security, earthquake escape, fire emergency, wilderness security, self-rescue and overall security knowledge, the classroom is equipped with earthquake simulators, movable chairs, escape tools, alarms and educational table games. "Through building such a pilot class, we hope to set an example for promoting security education across Baotou", said an official from the municipal Red Cross.
