Internet Yuelu Summit opens in Changsha to discuss cyber issues

The three-day 2019 Internet Yuelu Summit was recently held in Changsha, Hunan province.

It covered 12 themed events including 5G networks, mobile payments, smart driving, industrial internet, artificial intelligence, and blockchain.

The summit, which was initiated in 2014, has developed from a small forum into an influential internet industry gathering. The number of participants has increased from 300 to 20,000 in 2018, and the number of internet professionals has grown from six to 283 last year.

Hunan province has been promoting the development of its internet industry and has achieved fruitful results. By the end of 2018, 70 software and internet companies generated revenue of over 100 million yuan ($15 million).

Emerging information and technology enterprises are landing in Hunan as well. Engineering machinery and rail traffic have become highlights of big data industrial application in Hunan.
