As ice and snow fell upon the ancient Chinese city, the Changsha tourism administration, for the people's safety, has announced on Jan 26 the closing of all scenic attractions around the city of Changsha in Hunan province.

On Jan 25, snow started to fall on the central Chinese city, coating it in a beautiful haze of white. In downtown area, scenic spots including the Yuelu Mountain and Orange Island were all affected. Unlucky visitors who wanted to venture into the scenic spots in the area will have to wait until they are deemed safe.

Furthermore, travelers are also to be kindly reminded in advance that metro train Line 2 will not stop at Juzizhou Station.

Other sightseeing areas affected include Wangcheng district's Heimifeng Forest Park, Leifeng Memorial Hall and Baile Land, Changsha county's Tianhua Mountain and Beishan Forest Park, and Miyin Temple, Scenic Resort of the "Thousand Buddha Cave" and the Huitang Tourism Resort in Ningxiang county. Subsequently all these attractions have closed their doors for safety reasons.

Huang Xing's Residence will reopen to visitors on Jan 30. The re-opening time of other scenic spots will be informed in time.

Changsha authorities will continue to carry out inspections and maintenance work for tourism facilities and equipment during the closed-off period.
