Approved by the State Council, China's cabinet, on May 31, 2016, Changsha Huanghua Comprehensive Bonded Zone became operational in late June, this year.

As one of the biggest investors, Shanghai-based DeepBlueeCom Cross Border Trade Co inked an agreement with Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce on cross-border trade projects in the city.

Xu Xiangping, director of Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce, was confident that the agreements "will bolster Huanghua Comprehensive Bonded Zone to develop at a new level".

"The commerce department will offer quality services and preferential policies to promote more products from Hunan at a global level and in the process expose Hunan-based enterprises to international competition," Xu said.

It is expected that those projects will bring in an annual windfall of $1 billion in foreign trade.

"With the progressive development of Changsha Airport Economic Demonstration Zone, the city has been displaying huge potential to develop as a national top-notch special customs supervision area," Zeng Chaoqun, secretary of Party Working Committee of Changsha Economic and Development Zone told participants at the event.

At present, more than 120 projects have enlisted on the bonded area, 80 of which have registered businesses.
