An innovative and unique sculpture park filled with colorful characters created solely from old car tires has opened in Wufu village, Changsha county.

The tires have been turned into tanks, toys, horses, and cartoonish figures, and have been entertaining local children after the agriculture theme park opening earlier this month.

The rubbery Rodins are the brainchild of local artist Lu Jian, who came up with the idea of painting the tires and making the colorful models to attract more visitors to the area.

Rural tourism has been gaining traction in Wufu village in recent years, with many visitors attracted to the rural scenery and many locals returning to their hometown to start businesses related to tourism.

According to local statistics, more than 5,000 people visited the area in 2016, many citing the green hills, clear water, and clean air as being the biggest drawing cards.
