Updated: 2016-04-29

The much anticipated Changsha county new library is scheduled to open in early May. It will be a brand new cultural destination for local residents, featuring an abundant collection of materials and smart services.

The new library, a cube-shaped building, sits north of Kaiyuan East Road and south of Wangxian Road, between Dongwu and Dongliu roads. With a construction area of 13,000 square meters, the library will provide more than 1,300 seats for reading its 1-million-book collection. It can receive some 4,000 readers on a daily basis.

Users of the library can borrow and return books through self-service checking machines. New readers can apply for a library card by showing their identity card and paying 100 yuan ($15) as a deposit.
