Recently, Xianning authorities and Hubei Zhihui Investment Group Limited have entered into an official contract for the Guixiangyuan Ecotourism Area & Holiday Resort project, one of the key projects of the Hot Spring and Ecotourism New Town, involving a gross investment of 6.1 billion yuan ($984 million).

Located in the urban district of Xianning city, the Guixiangyuan Ecotourism Area project attaches great importance to environmental protection, low carbon, experience of environmentally-friendly cuisine. It is expected to be built into a comprehensive ecological holiday resort that integrates sightseeing, recreation, health preservation and folk culture. It will encourage the co-existence of humans and nature.

The project will be built adhering to the standards of 5A national-level scenic spots. Construction will last 7 years and will cover a total area of 266 hectares. The project will further improve the city's tourism, extending the tourism industrial chain and enriching the products of the tourism industry.
