Huaqiao International Service Business Park will add another large-scale wetland project to its portfolio. The Huangshu River Regional Wetland Park project was recently approved by the local municipal development and reform commission.

After completion of Huangshu River Regional Wetland Park, Huaqiao will have three wetland parks, including Qiaoyuan Park, the first provincial wetland in Kunshan in Jiangsu province, and Huaqiao Wusong Riverside Wetland Park.

With an area of about 840,000 square meters, the Huangshu River Regional Wetland Park project will be located along the Huangshu and Zhoupu rivers, reaching the Wusong River to the south and Greenland Road to the north.

The project is expected to start in the second half of this year and will build up an area for ecological water purification covering 190,000 sq m.

In a move to improve the aquatic ecological environment and improve water quality, Huaqiao has embarked on many wetland ecological restoration projects.

To date, the area of water purification has already reached more than 1.6 million sq m. Qiaoyuan Wetland Park, already approved as a provincial-level wetland park, is applying to become a national wetland park.

The wetland projects promote Huaqiao’s goal to create a new livable area combining technology, ecology and culture.
