Taiwan Commodity Transaction Center goes into operation in Kunshan
2011-11-30

The Taiwan Commodity Transaction Center officially went into operation in Kunshan Huaqiao, Jiangsu province on Nov 12.

This center, with a total area of 1.1 square kilometers, will become the largest exhibiting and trading place for made-in-Taiwan products in the Chinese mainland

This center was built by Kunshan Huaqiao Assets Management Co Ltd. and the Taiwan Federation of Industries. The project was directed by the Taiwan Federation of Industries and the Kunshan municipal government.

In 2010, the Taiwan Federation of Industries and the Kunshan municipal government officially signed the Kunshan-Taiwan economic and trade cooperation agreement. It was made to construct a Cross-Straits (Kunshan) Trading Cooperation Zone in the core area of Huaqiao International Service Business Park. The annual output would amount to 100 billion yuan. It will be a “large ship of commerce” across the Straits and an everlasting made-in-Taiwan expo.

The Taiwan Commodity Transaction Center will be a main item in the trading cooperation zone. It will be supported by the Taiwan commodity distribution center, Taiwan commodity bonded logistics center, Taiwan commodity exhibition center, comprehensive supporting service quarter and comprehensive bonded zone.

Jacky Wu, an entertainment star from Taiwan province, visited the Taiwan Commodity Transaction Center. Wu, chairman of Alpha Photonitek Corporation, brought his LED business with him to the station in the Taiwan Commodity Transaction Center. He opened up his first outlet in the center. Wu said he was optimistic of the development potential of the center. He made a tour of observation before he committed and decided to make the investment. He said the Taiwan commodity exhibition center had a grand overall plan, like a giant ship of commerce. It paved a path for Taiwan’s businesses across the Straits.
