On Nov 16, Zhang Xuguang, secretary of the municipal Party committee of Xiaoyi in Shanxi province led a delegation of 54 people to Huaqiao International Business Park, concentrating on the hospitality industry’s efforts to boost its economy. The delegation was welcomed by Ren Xueyuan, director of the managing committee of Huaqiao International Business Park

Ren introduced the delegation to the development track of Huaqiao International Business Park. After the introduction, Zhang said he regarded Huaqiao’s prospects for development strong. Later the delegation visited the Huaqiao Commercial Development Zone and Outsourcing Industry Park, as well as the headquarter base.

Huaqiao International Business Park is the first development zone at the provincial level specializing in the modern hospitality industry. Designed by US- based McKinsey & Co, Huaqiao developed goals to centralize service outsourcing, regional headquarters, commercial and trade services, and logistics distribution as its four main pillar industries.

Four years later, officials estimate that the park’s tertiary industry will contribute 5 billion yuan to the entire amount, which is expected to account for 57 percent of the city’s GDP. By the end of this year, 400 more foreign companies will locate in Huaqiao with a 50 billion yuan direct investment.
