Ren Xueyuan, director of the managing committee of the Huaqiao Economic Development Zone, and Cheng Wenrong, vice director of the managing committee of the Huaqiao Economic Development Zone, welcomed the representatives and described Huaqiao’s achievements in construction, industrial aggregation and skills development.

Zhang said he was impressed with Huaqiao’s theme of a “first-class industry, first-class city, first-class environment, first-class team”. As a leader of the export-oriented Jiangsu Provincial Jurong Economic Development Zone, he said he was eager to learn from the Huaqiao zone.
The Jurong Economic Development Zone was founded in 1992, and was upgraded to a provincial economic development zone in December 1993. It is located in the eastern outskirts of Nanjing with a development area of 16.5 square kilometers. The zone is only a 15-minute drive from the expressway, a 30-minute trip from Nanjing’s airport and a 30-minute trip from the city’s port. Shanghai and Hangzhou are each a two-hour drive from the zone.
