The 2009 Kunshan industrial, academic, and research cooperation conference launched a grand opening ceremony at the Howard Johnson ITC Plaza in Chongqing last Tuesday.

Before the meeting, Ren Xueyuan, director of the managing committee of the Huaqiao economic development zone, and Shen Huafei, vdirector of the managing committee, spoke with the managers from more than 20 enterprises, who were invited by Huaqiao to the conference. Through their discussion, they gained a better understanding of Huaqiao’s development, enhancing their confidence in Huaqiao.

At the conference, Zhang Guohua, secretary of the Municipal Party Committee delivered a speech to celebrate its opening and urged Chongqing to cooperate with Kunshan in industrial, academic, and research fields. Li Hongxing, manager-in-chief of Chong Hecheng Electric Appliance, which has opened a branch at Huaqiao, made a speech as representative of Huaqiao enterprises. At the end of the conference, Camelot Information Systems Co Ltd and Jiufu Software Co Ltd signed investment contracts to invest 205 million yuan in Huaqiao.

Camelot Information Systems Co Ltd was formed in 2000 and now has 3 large scale development centers in Beijing, Shanghai, and Dalian, with over 1200 software application talented employees devoted to providing application and outsourcing services to clients at home and abroad.

The officials from Kunshan city government and its subordinate towns attended the conference. Huang Jian, vice mayor of Kunshan hosted the conference.
