In recent years, Liucheng county in Liuzhou city, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, has been striving to develop its silkworm industry according to a pattern of “companies & bases & farmers” under the support of national industrial policies.

In 2014, the area of Liucheng’s mulberry fields exceeded 150,000 mu (10,000 hectares). The fresh cocoon output is expected to reach 17,000 tons and the annual yield of the silk industry will be worth 670 million yuan.

The silkworm industry has become one of Liucheng county’s pillar industries.
