According to Liuzhou’s business committee on Oct 8, 14 key enterprises in Liuzhou, Guangxi, achieved sales of 295 million yuan (about $48 million) during the National Day holiday. Household appliances, clothes, food and jewelry were still consumption hotspots.
With little price fluctuation, the necessities of life in Liuzhou, such as grain and oil, meat, eggs and vegetables, increased in demand. Data showed that the Liuyong Agricultural and Sideline Products Wholesale Market completed a transaction volume of 167 million yuan by trading 21,172.7 tons of products.
September and October are always the busiest shopping season. Liuzhou’s shopping malls and supermarkets carried out many promotional activities with a theme of celebrating the National Day holiday. Seven key retail enterprises in Liuzhou, such as the Five Star Commercial Mansion and Lianhua Supermarket, reached a total sale of 120 million yuan.
It’s worth noting that the characteristic catering market used by the majority of people is prosperous. Five catering enterprises including Liuzhou Hotel and Yan’an Grand Hotel achieved a turnover of 7.63 million yuan, a year-on-year growth of 3.8 percent; and 6.06 million yuan from the total turnover was catering income, with a year-on-year growth of 5.3 percent.
