Liuzhou has recently completed its first slow traffic system on the Liushi Road. With a width of two meters, the two lanes along end at the intersection of Yingbin Road near Lotus Liuzhou Airport.

The Liushi Road slow traffic system is one of 15 slow traffic roads planned for construction in Liuzhou. The total length of the two slow traffic lanes along Liushi Road is 18 kilometers.

It is understood that other slow traffic lanes are mainly to be found in Hedong District. The slow traffic lanes are constructed by paving red bicycle paths with a width of between 2.0 meters to 2.5 meters on the non-motorized vehicle lanes and repairing the existing sidewalks. The total length of the 15 slow traffic roads will be about 85 kilometers.

The construction of the slow traffic lanes is aimed at advocating green commuting and reducing urban air pollution. Nowadays, Liuzhou has formed a public traffic system including road buses, water buses and public bicycles.
