The 13th Vietnam-China International Trade Fair 2013 is underway in Vietnam's northern Lao Cai province, some 250 km northwest of capital Hanoi.
According to Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade, the event is part of trade promotion programs to promote cooperation in economy, investment, tourism and services between the Vietnamese locality and Chinese southwestern province of Yunnan in the economic corridor of China's Kunming and Vietnam's Lao Cai, Hanoi, Hai Phong and Quang Ninh.
During the six-day event, which kicked off on Wednesday, participants will showcase their products in 700 booths, including 200 booths of 131 enterprises from China' Yunnan, Nanning, Guangxi and Guangdong.
In addition, unique products of Vietnam's Lao Cai province, as well as machinery, electronics equipment, and handicrafts from other localities will also on display.
According to Vietnam's Ministry of Trade and Industry, along with other exchange activities between Vietnamese and Chinese businesses, the two sides are expected to sign business contracts estimated at 240 million U.S. dollars.
The fair is scheduled to last till next Monday.
