The People's Liberation Army will recruit as many as 1,180 new soldiers in Liuzhou city, South China’s Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, this year, said the local army’s recruitment office on July 17.
Young people at eligible ages can fill out applications to join the army with their IDs. The recruitment is divided into four phases. There will be ongoing promotions about joining the army before August 5. Background checks and physical screening of candidates is expected to occur between August 6 and 20. The review of those who pass the first-round check will be held between August 21 and September 4. From September 5 to 30, the new soldiers are expected to be sent to the army.
It is reported that starting this year, annual army recruitment has changed from winter to summer. College graduates and those with higher education will get an edge during the recruitment.
The promotion of army recruitment will mainly target colleges and universities in Liuzhou. In the meantime, there will also be promotions in newspapers, radio, television and outdoor LED bulletin boards.
