According to the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region’s building tasks and Liuzhou’s plans, the city will invest 879 million yuan ($141.2 million) in water conservancy construction in the coming winter-spring period, an increase of 24.2 percent from last year. The fund includes 476 million yuan from the central government, 120 million yuan from the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, and 283 million yuan from the Liuzhou government, counties and villages. Liuzhou will build 806 water conservancy projects, including 81 reservoir reinforcement projects and 387 rural safe drinking water projects.
So far, 582 projects (72 percent of the plan) have been started using investments of 347 million yuan (40 percent of the planned investment). As a strategic time in water conservancy construction, all construction parties are tensely and orderly executing their projects, striving to complete their tasks by the end of March 2013.
