The 2012 China-Vietnam People Friendship Festival wrapped up in Liuzhou in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Nov 19.
Chen Gang, Party secretary of Liuzhou city, addressed the event and expressed his belief that the two countries will continue strengthening cooperation and exchanges, contributing to China - Vietnam friendship.
Nguyen Xuan Thang, chairman of the Vietnam-China Friendship Association, reviewed the results of the three-day festival, affirming that bilateral ties have been expanded and intensified in all fields of politics, economics, culture, education, security and defense.
Both Nguyen Xuan Thang and Wang Jinshan, chairman of the China-Vietnam Friendship Association, agreed that the cooperation and exchanges between friendship organizations have helped strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between the two countries in the past. Such efforts need to be further promoted in the future.
The two chairmen signed a declaration at the 2012 China-Vietnam People’s Friendship Festival, pledging to make positive contributions to the development of the two countries’ relations in order to promote peace, friendship, cooperation and development.
The declaration says the two countries will follow past traditions, reinforcing exchanges, mutual understanding and trust, and boost cooperation in all fields to consolidate and develop China-Vietnam relations.
