The launch ceremony of the 6th small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) service month cum the awarding ceremony of Liuzhou growing SMEs was held in Liuzhou Hotel International Convention Center on 22 May.
Among 60 growing SMEs awarded at the ceremony, six of them were fast-growing SMEs (value of industry output increased for five consecutive years, and the annul rate of growth reached 100 percent); 32 were continuously-growing SMEs (value of industry output increased for five consecutive years, and the annul rate of growth reached 50 percent to 100 percent); and 22 were stable-growing SMEs (value of industry output increased for five consecutive years, and the annul rate of growth reached 30 percent to 50 percent ).
SMEs played a crucial role in the social economy development. In Liuzhou, over 99 percent of the companies were SMEs.
In 2011, there were 768 SMEs above designated size in the city, and 317 SMEs with over 100 million yuan production value.
The industrial output of the SMEs above designated size reached 143.84 billion yuan ($22.83 billion) in 2011, up 30.7 percent year-on-year, accounting around half of the economic aggregate in the whole city.
The SMEs becomes increasingly important in economic and social development by fueling economic growth and creating jobs.
In order to help SMEs develop better and healthier and create a friendly environment for them, the Liuzhou government will continue the Liuzhou SMEs service month activities this year. They will feature “problem-solving for SMEs”, “creating employment through technology innovation”, “financing and transformation”, and “improving service by upgrading management”.
Reportedly, 171 SMEs have been included in the 2012 Liuzhou SME growing plan.
