Hechi signed agreements on a total of eight cooperation projects for the cocoon and silk industry with Zhejiang companies during an industrial matchmaking event held in Huzhou, Zhejiang province on March 11.

These projects, which boast broad development prospects and outstanding innovation potential, will settle in Hechi's Yizhou district.

He Xinxing, vice chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Party secretary of Hechi, said that the silk industry, one of China's traditional industries, is an advantageous industry of Hechi.

The city has topped Guangxi in terms of its mulberry and silkworm production scale for 16 consecutive years. It has developed into China's largest cocoon production city and Guangxi's cocoon silk production base

Zhejiang has a rich silk history and culture, with its silk production and trade flourishing. Furthermore, Huzhou, which is known as one of the cradles of silk culture, possesses an industrial cluster of high-grade silk fabric.

He expressed his hope that Hechi can carry out deep communication and cooperation with entrepreneurs nationwide to reinforce complementarity advantages, realize deep integration, as well as to promote mutually beneficial development.

In addition, He noted that Hechi will continue to reform government functions, which streamline administration functions and delegate power, improve regulation, as well as upgrade services to establish an efficiency cooperation platform for the silk industry and to optimize the local business environment.

Hechi is located in the northwestern part of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and the southern foothills of the Yungui Plateau.
