At the sixth Guangxi Local Signature Dish Competition held in Nanning on Sept 9, Dahua Yao autonomous county, known as the town of cate, took home more than 20 medals, including 14 golds and two silvers.

Nearly 600 varieties of hot dishes and local snacks were brought by 58 competitors from across the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. Four banquets from Dahua, namely the Zhuang and Yao Grand Feast, the Zhuang Chieftain Banquet, the Yao's Boji Banquet and the Zhuang and Yao Flavor Banquet, claimed the title of "Famous Banquet of Guangxi Cuisine". A total of six entries won the honors.
