Positive growth for Hechi's economy in Q1

Hechi in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has achieved positive results in Q1 this year with all sectors tallying up increased business.

The city's liquor and beverage manufacturing industry increased in value by 7.5 percent, 10.7 percentage points higher than above-scale industries which were up 0.4 percentage points year on year.

Growth of technological transformation and infrastructure construction rose by around 20 percent, with tertiary industry continuing to increase its percentage in total fixed investment, accounting for 74.1 percent and up 3.9 percent compared with the same period last year.

From January to March, telecommunications revenue increased by 58.2 percent, 40.8 percentage points higher than the same period in 2015; meanwhile, the number of tourists from both China and abroad rose by 15.8 percent increasing tourism revenue by 27.7 percent, maintain a growth rate of 20 percent for 15 months since 2015.

According to preliminary statistics, Hechi's GDP in the first quarter reached 9.68 billion yuan ($1.49 billion), a 2.2 percent year-on-year growth. Its fixed investment came to 4.57 billion yuan, with a 5.9 percent increase. Total retail sales of consumer goods for the period hit 6.51 billion yuan, with per-capita disposable income at 3,392 yuan, an increase of 8.4 percent and 9.9 percent respectively.

Hechi is located in the northwestern part of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and the southern foothills of the Yungui Plateau.
