Guangxi releases air quality reports

The Environmental Protection Department of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region released on Aug 13 the air quality reports for the first seven months of the year as well as just for the month of July.

The department carried out monitoring and evaluation in 50 urban regions in all of 14 cities in Guangxi to find out whether the levels of sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, PM10, PM2.5, carbon monoxide and ozone in the air has hit the lower standards.

In the July's air quality report, the mean values of PM 10 and PM 2.5 were 45 and 28 micrograms per cubic meter. The comprehensive index of ambient air quality was 3.11, with Fangchenggang ranking the first and Hechi the last.

In the report analyzing the air quality from January to July this year, the mean values of PM 10 and PM 2.5 were 66 and 44 micrograms per cubic meter. The comprehensive index of ambient air quality was 4.21, with Fangchenggang ranking the first and Guilin the last.
