According to Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region’s Tourism Development Committee, Longtan Grand Canyon National Forest Park was upgraded to a national 4A-level scenic spot recently, becoming the fifth National AAAA Tourist Attraction in Hechi after the Hometown of Liu Sanjie in Yizhou, Panyang River Scenic Spot in Bama, the Red Tourism Scenic Area of Donglan and Fengshan Sanmen Sea. It became the only 4A-level national forest park in the city of Hechi.

Longtan Grand Canyon, with high and steep mountain peaks on both sides, is 15 km long. China’s third largest hydropower project – Longtan Hydropower Station – is located upstream of the Hongshui River Valley. Longtan National Forest Park, as the only national forest park in Hechi, was recognized as a national level forest park in 2008 and was approved as a national 3A-level scenic spot in 2010. With a total area of 4,172 hectares, the park has a forest coverage rate of 96.41 percent.

The promotion of Longtan National Forest Park will optimize the distribution of key tourism attractions in Hechi, improve the structure of tourism products, quicken the construction of the Bama Longevity National Tourism Area, and promote the development of Hechi’s tourism industry.

Hechi is located in the northwestern part of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and the southern foothills of the Yungui Plateau.
