The Bird Land in Shiwan Dashan Mountain in Shangsi county, Fangchenggang, is included in the newly augmented list of Guangxi's eight national 4A-level scenic spots released by the Guangxi Tourism Development Committee.

Up to now, six scenic spots in Fangchenggang have been given the title of "national 4A-level scenic spot".

The Bird Land is near the National Forest Park at Shiwan Dashan Mountain. With an investment of 150 million yuan ($22.82 million), the scenic spot covers an area of over 800 mu (53.33 hectares). It focuses on rare birds' exhibition, integrating a leisure vacation tour, popular science education, health training and environmental protection. As a large-scale ecotourism resort, the Bird Land is also the only domestication base for protected birds in Guangxi.

At present, the scenic spot has accommodated nearly one thousand birds in tens of categories, including peacocks, ostriches, golden pheasants, vultures and grey cranes. The daily number of tourists can reach 3,000.
