Fangchenggang produces Guangxi's first round copper rod

The Jinchuan Base in Fangchenggang recently produced Guangxi's first rod of round copper wire.

The 150,000-ton copper product deep processing project at Jinchuan Base started on Oct 22, 2014, with a total investment of 307 million yuan ($46.6 million). The production line of the project will start running in the middle of January.

According to its leader, the project will annually produce 150,000 tons of high quality low-oxygen copper rod products with a diameter of 8mm, about 30,000 of which will be used to further produce round copper wire. The other 120,000 tons will be sold directly as completed products, and supplied to downstream firms as power cable, varnished wire, automotive wire and telecommunication cable, with a sales revenue reaching 6.5 billion yuan.

In recent years, Gangkou district in Fangchenggang has been striving to complete the upstream and downstream industrial chains and has offered supportive policies for leading enterprises. It also has taken many measures to guarantee the development of every step of a project, which has stabilized investors' confidence.
