The No 1 power-generating unit of the Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Plant reached 100 percent full power operation on Dec 4.
The power plant is the first nuclear power plant in Western China. It will start to generate electricity by clean energy and bring the area into a new era.
Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Plant is located at Guangpo town in Gangkou district, Fangchenggang, Guangxi. Construction of the No 1 power-generating unit started on July 30, 2010 and the unit was connected to the local grid on Oct 25 this year. It has passed various kinds of tests to guarantee its safety and stability.
At present, the power-generating unit is in good condition within guaranteed specifications. It will be put into commercial operation after tests under 100 percent load and a 168-hour pilot run.
