New traffic lights turned on at Jinsha Bay

Updated: 2017-01-04

Two new sets of traffic lights were installed in Jinsha Bay, Chikan district, Zhanjiang on Dec 29.

The lights can be controlled by pedestrians when they arrive at the intersections. At the press of a button, and 10 seconds later, the traffic lights will turn red for cars and green for walkers, allowing for a more efficient crossing system for all involved.

When the pedestrian crossing button hasn't been pressed the road will green for vehicle traffic.

The traffic lights were installed at the intersections of the Haifeng Road and the East Garden Road, and the North Guanhai Road and the Baijin Road.

Jinwan Bay in southwestern Zhanjiang was designated as the pilot place by the city government last year for urban transformation. Major makeovers are being carried out in transportation and environmental protection.
