Passenger volume of Zhanjiang Airport sets record

The passenger volume of Zhanjiang Airport reached a new high of 24,000 travelers during Spring Festival holiday (Feb 7-13), up 23.3 percent year on year, according to the airport.
The daily average number of passengers traveling through the airport exceeded 3,000 with the peak number reaching 4,718 on Feb 12.
During the week-long holiday, the airport accommodated 230 airplanes, an increase of 12.7 percent compared to last year, and 24,138 tourists, up 23.3 percent. Meanwhile, the volume of cargo handled by the airport rose by 25.3 percent to 249.9 metric tons.
Outbound tourists travelling abroad or visiting their friends and family members accounted for a big share of the increases.
Occupancy rate of flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Kunming were also high as some of the cities are famous for beautiful scenery and others are common destinations for migrant workers.
At present, the airport operates 16 air lines to 20 cities across the world, including Hong Kong and Bangkok.
