Blood oranges, a local specialty in Lianjiang, a county-level city in Zhanjiang, are already in the market ahead of their season.

There is still a month to the season for blood oranges, which usually come on the market in October and November. However, thanks to regular sunshine and rain this year, the early oranges are on offer in market stalls for their savory flavor and attractive colors.

"We picked these fruits for sale to grab an early market share. They are sweet enough to taste now," said a fruit vendor. Currently, blood oranges are priced at ten yuan per kilogram.
