By Zhong Xinyuan Updated: 2015-09-07

Zhanjiang's first cross-border e-commerce center, the Daludong cross-border direct selling center, was opened on Sept 1, following an introductory press conference given by officers from the city's administrative department and customs bureau.

Divided into shopping and product exhibition areas, the experience center operates on O2O (online to offline) mode, offering both online and offline cross-border shopping experience for customers.

The center will be put into full operation in October. Customers can choose and pay for the products at the shopping area, while products in the exhibition area can only be ordered online and delivered through logistics services from the bonded zone.

E-commerce cross-border trade is expanding fast in China, as there are more than 5,000 cross-border e-commerce platforms and over 200,000 enterprises operating in this industry. Having huge advantages in terms of location, harbor, port transportation and convenient customs clearance, Zhanjiang is set to be an important center in e-commerce trade and development.
